Across two brackets, El Gamble's set list was a nice balance between high energy rockers and slow dance tracks, and featured a number of surprises. As El Gamble told EIN in an interview before the show (to be published on the EIN site shortly): Opening with a driving I Got A Woman he captured his audience in the familiar, with strong versions of a 50s medley including Heartbreak Hotel and All Shook Up, the love song Are You Lonesome Tonight?, and the late 60s classic, Suspicious Minds. And then he reeled them in further with the lesser known - the toe tappin' vibe of The Girl Next Door Went A Walking, the "lost" blues classic, Mess of Blues, and the sublime, underrated love ballad, Memories.
