This mono audience recording is previously unreleased and apparaently in very good sound quality. The CD runs for almost 70 minutes. Elvis’ dinner show on March 25 was a very typical concert for this season. Elvis was less chatty and he concentrated more on his singing. His voice was strong again and he gave several solid performances of recent songs, whilst the majority of his old standards were excluded from the set list. Among the best moments of this show are spellbinding performances of his "Stax" numbers "It's Midnight", "Promised Land" and "My Boy". Elvis paid attention to rock and rhythm and blues numbers again and he treated songs like "Big Boss Man", "Burning Love" and "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" with gusto and respect. The latter two tracks are included as special bonuses and were taken from another tape, recorded live during the following spring tour in Tampa, Florida on April 26 at the 8:30 P.M. show. Claire, a freelance legal representative in criminal courts, and Marc, a local bus driver, will exchange vows in front of thousands of Elvis lookalikes and another Elvis backing group, The Sweet Inspirations. The Memphis Bioworks Foundation has announced that the implosion of the main
tower of the Baptist Hospital on Union Avenue will occur on November 6, 2005, at
6:30 a.m. The first phase consisted of the removal of the four-story Service building in January of this year. The eight-story Interns’ Residence and the 10-story Physicians and Surgeons buildings were then imploded in May. Elvis's cousin and The Jordanaires ready to rock "Heartbreak Hotel": His name is Presley, he has a distinctive American accent - and he's performing in Wales. But before you start thinking Elvis is still alive after all, it's not The King taking to the stage. It's the next best thing - his cousin Jerry Presley. And one of the venues he will be appearing at is the Heartbreak Hotel. Jerry is the first male member of the Presley family to visit the UK. He flew into London last night ahead of the second Porthcawl Elvis Festival, which opens tomorrow. Jerry will be performing five tribute concerts to his iconic cousin during the festival weekend. He decided to travel to Wales from his home in Kansas City for the three-day event after learning about it from the owners of London's Elvisly Yours, which sells Elvis memorabilia. 'The festival's a great idea - it's a good opportunity for fans to hear more about Elvis and his music,' said Jerry, who possesses the unmistakable Presley voice. The festival will feature Elvis tribute artists from all over the world, including Mario Kombou, recently crowned in Memphis World Champion Elvis tribute. 'There are a lot of good tribute artists out there,' said Jerry, whose great-grandfather was the brother of Elvis's great-grandfather. 'It's amazing that 27 years after his death his popularity continues to grow - you can't say that about any other person. He was The King - there will never be another Elvis Presley.' Jerry believes Elvis, who died on August 16, 1977, would be a little bemused with his iconic status if he were still alive. 'He never liked being called The King, but as far as the phenomenon of his popularity is concerned, he would give credit to all his fans.' While millions of people loved Elvis's public persona as the music and film legend, Jerry knew the 'real' Elvis. 'He was a typical, everyday, normal human being,' said Jerry. 'He loved to have fun - he was a big joker.' Jerry does not see much of Elvis's family. 'I don't see Priscilla or Lisa-Marie too often as they are in another part of the country.' Jerry has a busy work schedule and stages scores of shows throughout America every year. 'I get a very positive reaction from Elvis's fans,' he said. 'I try to pay tribute to him in a first-class way. I try to keep the shows classy - nothing cheesy.' Jerry travels with a 16-piece band, The Jordanaires, who were Elvis's original backing singers. He will make his Welsh debut tonight with a performance at The Litten Tree in Bridgend. His other gigs as part of the Porthcawl Elvis Festival will be at Trecco Bay Holiday Park (tomorrow, 9pm); The Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl (Saturday, 8pm); Hi-Tide Inn, Porthcawl (Sunday, 1pm) and Heartbreak Hotel, Porthcawl (Sunday, 9pm). The festival, which begins tomorrow and ends on Sunday, was launched last year by organiser Peter Phillips and was a huge success. 'I wanted to do something for Porthcawl and had an idea to put on an award show for Elvis tribute artists to give them the recognition they deserve. I had no idea it would be as big as it was. It was the biggest Elvis festival in Europe and the second biggest in the world. When I went to America people had heard of Porthcawl because of the festival.' Elvis has left the building...at least in Montpelier, Vermont: Sure there are still a few remnants of what is billed on the back of the business card for Charlie-O's as "the nearest shrine to Graceland," – 194 feet separate the Main Street bar and Minuteman Press on State Street where for more than two decades Pinky Clark proudly displayed his impressive collection of Elvis Presley memorabilia. Elvis by the Presleys CBS News promotion: It's been out for a while now but the CBS News website is still carrying promotion for it this week: Elvis Presley was an icon who is still, 28 years after his death, loved by millions. While many admired him, few really knew him.

Tori Amos, Björk and others have attempted to eclipse Bush's otherworldliness, musicality and sheer weirdness, but none has come close and King Of The Mountain shows why. It's a brooding epic which begins with an ominous guitar riff before that instantly recognisable voice charges in. "Could you see the aisles of women? Could you see them screaming and weeping?" she asks. As ever, she is too subtle a writer to offer answers to who the king is and where his mountain might be, but there are references to Elvis (Presley?) and Rosebud, the talismanic sledge in Orson Welles' Citizen Kane. The allegorical lyrical mystery makes her music more alluring. Bush was always a uniquely physical writer, but the more this song progresses, the more she sounds buffeted by the elements atop a frozen mountain. Gales howl around her before she concludes: "The wind, it blows the door closed." It is not easy listening, but it is a landmark work. I can't wait for Aerial. Elvis & United Nations concert update: There has been much confusion and uncertainty concerning our earlier reports that the Elvis recording, If I Can Dream, was being considered for inclusion in the UN 60th Anniversary concert - a concert which now appears uncertain. Brian Quinn sent EIN the following message which at least clears up why Robert Stigwood (see 24 September) couldn't recall saying the song would be used: "Just read your article about the United Nations and Elvis being featured with 'If I Can Dream'. In the article you mention Robert Stigwood. In fact the Producer of the Show is Stig Edgren of 'Elvis The Concert' fame and not Robert Stigwood". (News, Source: Brian Quinn)
Aussie chart update: Elvis By The Presleys slipped eleven places to #33 on this week's ARIA Music DVD Top 40 chart. It has been on the chart for 14 weeks having reached a peak of #3. (News, Source: ARIA) The Priscilla Presley Collection: AUSTRALIAN businessman Bruno Schiavi took Delta Goodrem's knickers to the world and now he's climbing into bed with Priscilla Presley. Schiavi has joined forces with Presley to release a range of bed linen, robes, slippers, towels and candles. "We are out in the world fighting battles every single day and the one place you come home to is a place that is like your bedroom that is a sanctuary for you," Presley said from her Los Angeles home. "I love the fabrics. The collection shows versatility, uniqueness and style." Schiavi relocated from Sydney to Los Angeles earlier this year to work with Presley on the collection which will be released in Australia in February next year. "I am hands on with this with Bruno," said Elvis' ex, who also has her own perfume range. "I could never just lend my name and have somebody do all the work for me. I would feel like I am cheating myself and cheating the consumer." Schiavi, who was this week listed in BRW magazine's young rich list, said he is often approached by celebrities looking to broaden their markets. The businessman specialises in working with high profile people and in the past has mostly worked on marketing lingerie ranges for celebrities, among them Delta Goodrem. He said the most important part of his endeavours is feeling a connection with the person he is working with. "I could have met Priscilla and she could have been lovely but at the same time, if I didn't think we could work together, I wouldn't have gone ahead," Schiavi, 33, said. "Being a global launch, it is a huge challenge for my company and I have got to make sure this partnership actually lasts for a long time." Schiavi is in negotiations with retail outlets internationally to distribute the Presley collection. Priscilla Presley will come to Australia in February or March 2006 to launch the first range. "February is when I am hoping to come for the launch," she said. "And that gives me a chance to meet up with some friends that I have there too and share what we have created and hope that they are as excited as we are." The Priscilla Presley Collection will consist of nine lines, with the bed linen made of fine egyptian cottons and in a range of colours from whites to browns, gold and green. One line was inspired by a favourite pair of Presley's pants. Presley was married to Elvis from 1967 to 1973 and has two children, Lisa Marie Presley and Navarone Garibaldi. Aside from her new business venture, Presley has been working on the release of the Elvis by the Presleys book and DVD. "I have been taken aback by the success of both the DVD and the book," she said. "I couldn't be happier and I know that means a lot to the (Elvis Presley) Estate. "Again, it shows that Elvis certainly is probably more popular than he was when he was alive. His legacy just keeps going." (News, Source: AP/Sanja Meegin)
EPE rhetoric surfaces again: EIN has no problems with fair promotion, but when a major Broadway "Elvis" musical has gone under in the midst of internal troubles, the least we can expect is balanced reporting from EPE. However, the financially troubled and internally doomed "All Shook Up" gets the 'rosy cheeked' and selectively omitting facts treatment from the "corporation": All Shook Up, the Elvis-inspired musical that opened on Broadway on March 24 at the Palace Theatre ends its run on September 25. Elvis’ home Audubon Drive wins historic site nomination: There are no jungle rooms at 1034 Audubon Drive, no gold records and no pink Cadillacs. But this modest ranch-style house in the Audubon Park Subdivision of southeast Memphis shares a history with Graceland, the famous white-columned mansion more than 10 miles away. The house Elvis Presley purchased at age 21, a home that his fame quickly outgrew, has been nominated to the National Register of Historic Places. The State Review Board approved the nomination Tuesday and now it moves on — just as Graceland did in 1991 — for approval at the national level. Judith Johnson, an architecture historian in Memphis, helped the private owners put the house up for nomination. No stranger to Elvis history, Johnson was involved in protecting from demolition a Memphis public housing unit, Lauderdale Courts, where Elvis spent his teenage years. Now she’s hoping to put another Elvis homestead on the map. Bought with his first royalty checks from RCA Studio on March 8, 1956, Elvis, his parents and grandmother lived in the four-bedroom house for only a year. One month after moving in, his single "Heartbreak Hotel" hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts, ultimately ending any privacy he had in the neighborhood. Crowds of fans lined the suburban street and police frequently had to be called in to handle the growing problem. This massive, and often emotional, response by fans to Elvis and his music would come to characterize the rest of his life and career. Freeman said that what made Elvis different from other musicians and celebrities was his affection for his fans, no matter how large the crowds. "He would never call the police," Freeman said. "He’d go out there and sign autographs." In the short time the family was there, Elvis had a 50-footlong granite pool installed in the backyard and a den added to the house, according to records. The pool was the largest residential pool in Memphis when he built it. Many of Alfred Wertheimer’s photographs of the emerging musician were shot at this house, chronicling Elvis’ growing fame and fortune. These photographs helped the owners recreate the interior decoration as close as possible with period furniture from the 1950s. In March 1957, Elvis swapped the house on Audubon Drive for a 14-acre estate with a two-story colonial already known as Graceland, a home that Elvis would make famous. 'All Shook Up' includes Chaka Demus & Pliers (who made the Australian Top 20 in 1993 with 'Tease Me' & 'Twist & Shout') covering Don't Be Cruel. Other highlights are Hortense Ellis' Suspicious Minds, by super-producer Lee Perry, and Jackie Edwards' superb version of the title track. Interestingly the earlier 'Is It Rolling Bob?' featured a reggae version of 'Don't Think Twice, It's All Right' a song released by both Elvis & Bob Dylan. Elvis fans may also remember 1991's extraordinary band Dread Zeppelin who toured Australia playing Led Zeppelin songs sung reggae style with an Elvis vocalist! If you saw them live it was a totally weird concept that worked extremely well! So for fans of Elvis, reggae & the bizarre this new CD will be a must-have purchase. Capitalising on Elvis’ recent singles success in the UK and its large reggae fan-base, the CD features reggae-fied versions of 10 Elvis #1s, including the UK's 1000th #1 single One Night. Either way, Cliff Richard's announcement that he will not be releasing any more records closes the door on one of the most prolific careers in popular music. "Red Elvis" painting sparks court battle: Swedish heiress Kersten Lindholm of Greenwich is fighting a court ruling that declared newsprint magnate Peter Brant the rightful owner of "Red Elvis," a 6-foot-tall painting that features 36 identical images of Elvis Presley's face. Brant bought the painting five years ago from Lindholm's art dealer, who was later convicted of stealing it. Last month, after a three-year legal battle, a Stamford Superior Court judge ruled Brant the rightful owner of the painting. Lindholm had filed a civil suit alleging that Brant and Swedish art dealer Anders Malmberg conspired to buy the painting without her permission. Lindholm's attorney, Lawrence Weinstein of Proskauer Rose in Manhattan, said she filed an appeal last week. Brant, a longtime Warhol collector, paid $2.9 million to buy the painting from Malmberg, who had represented Lindholm in many art transactions, according to court documents. The painting is now in Brant's private collection. Court papers indicate that Malmberg lied and said he had bought the painting from Lindholm, then offered to sell it to Brant. But Lindholm alleges in her lawsuit that Brant knew she owned the painting and conspired with Malmberg to buy it. Superior Court Judge Chase Rogers ruled last month that Brant made a reasonable effort to confirm that Malmberg was authorized to sell the painting. "This decision basically vindicates Mr. Brant as the innocent purchaser who paid fair value for the painting," said his Stamford attorney, Jay Sandak. "Mrs. Lindholm was wronged by Malmberg." Weinstein said Brant's due diligence should have alerted him that the painting could not be sold because of a court order barring the sale of property while Kersten Lindholm was divorcing her husband, Magnus. Kersten Lindholm's lawsuit sought the return of the painting, monetary damages of not less than $12 million, and punitive damages. Brant bought the painting while it was on exhibit in Europe as part of a Warhol tour put on by the Guggenheim Museum of New York. In 2003, Malmberg began serving a three-year term in Sweden on criminal theft charges in connection with the sale of "Red Elvis." He has not paid Kersten Lindholm the $2.9 million sale price of the painting. "He appears to be judgment proof," Weinstein said. "If he has any assets he has hidden them very well." All Shook Up to close: Not surprisingly (see our earlier stories dated 19, 18 & 15 September), All Shook Up, the Elvis-inspired musical that stars Cheyenne Jackson and Jenn Gambatese, will play its final performance at the Palace Theatre Sept. 25. James, John Jellison, Alix Korey, Mark Price and Sharon Wilkins. The musical has a book by Joe DiPietro, choreography by Ken Roberson with additional choreography by Sergio Trujillo. Elvis wore his gold lame jacket and black dress pants. This would be the last time Elvis would ever wear the gold lame jacket. The concert itself would become the last performance on stage till Elvis return on stage, almost 8 years later in Las Vegas in 1969.One week after Bernards visit to the arena, Lisa Marie Presley & her son, plus about 10 other people, also visited the arena, wanting to see where her Dad did the fund-raising concert for the USS Arizona Memorial. As you probably know, there is NO OFFICIAL plaque commemorating this concert at Pearl Harbour, or the Bloch Arena. But Bernard has found out that Tom Hulet (Concerts West?) has agreed to donate a plaque & there is a place on the outer wall which has been discussed as a possible site, but the U.S. Naval Authorities are not keen on the idea of commemorating one of, if not the single biggest and generous private donation by Elvis Presley in helping to build the memorial. There is however, a small "non-official" display in a corridor leading to the arena, due purely to the efforts of a fan who works near there, but a proper, "Official" plaque is needed. Let's get Lisa Marie on board and get Elvis recognised for his part in honouring the many who lost their lives on December 7th 1941. There are some additions to the book since it contains a nice unpublished publicity photograph from the movie "Change Of Habit". The section on the movie "That's The Way It Is" is about 64 pages and features photographs from all the rehearsals and all the shows up to August 14th, 1970 midnight show excepted for the August 13th, 1970 midnight show. The dismal attendance figures of the $7 million "Lennon" follow in the wake of "Good Vibrations," the Beach Boys musical that wiped out last season. The Elvis offering currently on the boards, "All Shook Up," (see 15 & 18 September) continues to struggle at the box office, playing to 37% capacity last week. Next in the firing line: a bio of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, "Jersey Boys," opening Nov. 6 at the newly rechristened August Wilson. Nobody before had in the thing of coolness as much gave the note as Elvis did. His appearances at the "Country Package Tours" in 1955 inspired lots of young musicians. Elvis is and continues to be an inspiration source for artist all around the world - Bruce Springsteen, Bono of U2 and Jim Morrison belong to them. And John Lennon once said: "Before Elvis there was nothing". The live-Shows of Elvis have inspired scores of musicians. You think only of Ricky Martins performance at the Grammy’s 1999, of Mick Jagger, when he struts across the stage or of Michael Jackson’s way to dance, when he skips on the tip of his toe and press the basin forward. Elvis is all-pervasive. His style, his gestures, his expression. His way to sing and his looks constitute a part of the success, but it was his stage show, that made the girls go wild like nothing before. Until the censorship intervened and the TV cameras only more showed the upper part of his body. It started at his first bigger show on 30th July 1954 in Overton Park on Memphis: Elvis began to shake his leg during the singing. When he realised, which effect he had with it on his audience, he improved it at the following gigs. He moved his hips lascivious, sang on bended knee, enhanced his gestures and installed over and over again something new into his shows – among other things karate movements. His show is still today the example for countless rock musicians and for the never ending line of impersonators'. (News, Source: Ezy DVD) How Elvis helped set "hostage" Douglas Wood's spirit free: During the 47 days Douglas Wood was bashed, handcuffed and blindfolded in Iraq, he kept his spirits up by humming Elvis Presley's I Want To Be Free. Now the song's writer, Mike Stoller, says it was the "most important use of that song ever", and Mr Wood says he will close his speaking engagements with a rendition. Mr Wood said the Kris Kristofferson song Me and Bobby McGee, popularised by Janis Joplin, had been his first choice, but did not fit the situation. "When I was in the hell-hole, I hummed it," he said, recounting the song's famous line: freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose. Speaking from Los Angeles, Mr Wood said he received "much more inspiration" from the Elvis song after considering his predicament. The song, off the 1957 Jailhouse Rock EP, speaks of a man sitting alone in a dark room: There's no joy in my heart, only sorrow / And I'm sad as a man can be It came from the pens of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, whose work stands alongside that of Lennon and McCartney as among the most significant composers of popular music since World War II.
On his release, Mr Wood discussed with his cousin Ian Allen how he had used the song to keep his spirits up. His Seaford-based cousin sent a letter to Stoller, expressing appreciation for the motivation and support the song provided during Mr Wood's ordeal — in which he was bashed, robbed, handcuffed, and witnessed other hostages being murdered. Stoller read about Mr Wood's ordeal in newspapers, and said he was "touched and honoured" by the gesture. Mr Wood will appear at a sold-out event at Shepparton United Football Club, Shepparton, on September 16, and confirmed that he would end his speech with a rendition. Elvis on The Ed Sullivan Show- The Real Story: Given that many fans think Elvis is still alive despite his death certificate, highly publicized funeral, and gravestone, it’s no surprise that misunderstandings abound about his career. Fan club president proposes Elvis tribute album to aid Hurricane Katrina victims: Pete Smith in Canada sent us this great idea by Barb Thomas from the "For The Heart" fan club in Chicago - "Hi, Y'all, I think it would be great if Graceland would create a Tribute Album dedicated to the victims and their families of the Katrina disaster. It is so horrific to try to just imagine what those poor people are going through. I keep thinking about what Elvis might do for his home state of Tennessee and the other states that were hit by this terrible, terrible disaster. I think Elvis would love the idea of creating an album of songs from the movie "King Creole" shot in New Orleans....and perhaps include some gospel songs, like "Amazing Grace" or "How Great Thou Art". He had stated many times he thought his best performance was in King Creole. So here are the songs that I suggest be included and would be appropriate on a Special Tribute CD: 1) King Creole
2) Crawfish
3) New Orleans
4) Dixieland Rock
5) The Trilogy
6) Amazing Grace (or) How Great Thou Art (as the end song)(Optional)
Further, I am recommending that Lisa Marie and Priscilla have a special message to the victims of this tragedy on the back of the album and that the proceeds for this album be given to The American Red Cross (or whatever organization Graceland chooses) for disaster relief for all those people who have lost their loved ones, families, homes, treasured items from their homes and jobs. Their very existence is left up to us to help them". Fans can contact Barb by telephone on Home: (312) 988-9588/Cell: (740) 504-8865. (News, Source; Tim Casara) Elvis is: I am an Elvis fan and have been since 1954. I was a pretty bad banjo player back then, with a resonating tin ear, but I sure liked to whack that old instrument. I would take the bus down to Robinson Auditorium every Saturday night to the Barnyard Frolics. I didn't play for any group, but just stood around waiting for them to ask me to accompany someone with my clanging. If they requested your services, it meant $5 in your pocket. There was always a final song and they would let me whack a few chords in the finale. A young man from Memphis had some hits out I was bonkers about: "Blue Moon of Kentucky," "Heartbreak Hotel" and "That's All Right, Mama." I was also into R & B, but would not have let any of the country performers know. It was evident that "Heartbreak Hotel" and "That's All Right Mama" were Elvis' versions of songs recorded by black artists from River City - just up tempo and with more enthusiasm, like his later "(You Ain't Nothin' But a) Hound Dog" done by blues giant Bessie Smith in the 1940s. There is really only one version of "Blue Moon of Kentucky," and that is by Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys in blue grass; but Elvis did it his way and made us like it. Elvis was a regular on "Louisiana Hayride" and one night talk was that he was coming to perform at the Frolics. There was no middle ground: The younger folks were giddy with delight, the old timers were less than enthusiastic. Didn't matter because he didn't come and it was the next year that I had to shell out five smokes to catch Elvis in the auditorium. Why folks were even ... shudder ... dancing in the aisles until the cops put a squeeze on such behavior. There is one thing I cannot forgive Elvis for, however: He just about killed country music as we knew it. He had such an impact on country audiences that alarm bells began to go off all over Nashville. The result was that guitar virtuoso and director of talent at RCA Victor records, Chet Atkins, had to do something and do it fast; the result came to be known as the Nashville Sound. It was wildly popular with young folks, I just never got into it. No more Eddie Arnold, Cowboy Copas, Jimmy Rogers, Little Jimmy Dickens, Flatt and Scruggs, Patsy Montana, Bob Wills and other greats. Why Bob Wills was promoted to icon and his music taken over by a group known as Asleep at The Wheel. Elvis, old pard, I love you anyway. Elvis Presley made his first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. It was a clash of customs and a war between the forces of good and evil. Presley, representing evil, won handily. To begin at the beginning, in 1956 the Elvis phenomenon was starting to spread nationally. Records such as “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Hound Dog,” and “Heartbreak Hotel” were climbing not only the popular charts but the country-music and rhythm-and-blues charts as well, which had never happened before. Elvis was hot, but he was also controversial. With his perpetual sneer, his guitar slung low and suggestively, and hips that swiveled and gyrated when he performed live, he was as feared and loathed by parents as he was worshipped by their children. “Elvis the Pelvis,” who in reality was a mild-mannered momma’s boy, became the symbol of teenage rebellion and sexuality. Ed Sullivan, a stone-faced former gossip columnist, had somehow come to host the most popular variety show on television, The Ed Sullivan Show. Utterly humorless, but with a voice and onstage manner that were grist for countless stand-up comics, Sullivan ran his show like a tyrant, and as a self-proclaimed guardian of public morality, he would book only entertainers whose wholesomeness was beyond question. Which is why he publicly proclaimed that Elvis would never appear on his show. He would eat those words. Immediately, Sullivan’s main competitor, which in 1956 was a variety show hosted by the comic Steve Allen, booked Presley for an appearance. Although Allen had no qualms about having Presley on his show, he did try to tone the singer down, dressing him in a tuxedo and casting him in the show’s comedy sketches. As an attempt to “split the difference” it was an abject failure — Elvis fans hated the show — but as a ratings getter it was a huge success. For the first time ever, Allen’s show drew more viewers than Sullivan’s. Sullivan was not amused. Fighting for decency was one thing. Losing viewers, advertisers and your No. 1 rating was another. Sullivan’s agents quickly booked Elvis for a three-show gig at an unheard of $50,000. This small but significant battle in the Kulturkampf had come to an end. Elvis had won. But Sullivan still had one shot to fire. He ordered his cameramen to shoot Elvis only from the waist up, meaning the television audience never saw the singer’s gyrating hips and pelvis thrusts. It was Sullivan’s way of “splitting the difference,” and although it was cleverer than Steve Allen’s, in the end it was little more than a parting shot. The “King” as Elvis was soon known, became more popular than ever. Elvis On Tour Outtakes DVD confusion: With the various EOT DVDs now being offered for sale, Steve M's posting on the FECC messageboard appears to shed some much needed light on this confusing issue. "Perhaps I should believe it, but I struggle to do so at the best of times. I have been informed that clips are being used to sell the EOT out takes and as such are being touted as examples of what is on the DVD's being offered for sale. Unfortunatley these clips are ones that I made and do not represent what is on the DVD at all. On the clips I made I had enhanced the footage, I had put a multi angle synchronised montage in from 2 to 4 angles depending on the clip and had used alternate sound as a source where they were available and superior to that on the footage. Whilst they are no longer available to view via the links I originally had in my signature some have kept the clip and used it to advertise their copy of the out takes and are claiming that the clips represent the quality and content of what they are selling. It IS NOT ME! If anyone is in any doubt then please PM me here if you should find yourself considering buying something you're never going to recieve from someone claiming or portraying themselves as me. As with all requests on here from PM's I do not have the DVD's available for money trade bribes or otherwise. Post the pics of me and the donkey - I don't care. Seriously though, please pay attention to the above, don't get conned". (News, Source; FECC mesageboard)

Closing Vamp (21.05.1974 MS) Man "possessed by soul of Elvis" takes his life: A 35-year-old man who believed he was possessed by the soul of Elvis Presley was found hanging from a tree in woods near his home, an inquest heard. Paul Box, of King George Road, Chatham, died on May 12, by hanging himself from a scarf in the woods off Campion Close behind the Bridgewood Manor Hotel. Mr Box, who was unemployed and single, was discovered by a woman walking her dog. Just hours before he was found he had seen his probation officer Adam Crocker following an appearance at Medway magistrates' court.
Canadian Idols massacre Elvis hits: The final four Canadian Idol contestants each took on two songs by the king of rock 'n' roll Tuesday night, but by the end of the evening it was clear that few of them deserve to be heir to the throne. It was the third straight week of the competition that focused on rock music — we've already seen the pop protégées attempt classic rock and Burton Cummings to mixed results — but most of the Idol hopefuls had trouble translating Elvis Presley's dated, bluesy material into something contemporary. At least they got a free trip to Sun Studio in Memphis, where Presley once recorded. Following an all-too-brief video bio on Presley (which was also all-too-happy to skip the part about the depression and the drug abuse), big teddy bear Aaron Walpole performed the appropriate "Teddy Bear," a peppy doo-wop number that would sound great on a chewing gum commercial. It was a bit too obvious a selection for the show tune-lovin' guy from St. Thomas, but judge Sass Jordan was pleased with it. "You're starting to make a fabulous name for big men everywhere!" she gushed. Then rocker Suzi Rawn dished out a strong, but slurred working of "Heartbreak Hotel," breaking a lot of hearts in the process as she sexily breathed the line, "I get so lonely." "You sing that like you had heartbreak," judge Jake Gold remarked in approval. Compadre Zack Werner felt differently. "It looks like you could use a good night's sleep," Werner told Rawn. Melissa O'Neil was a bit unstable with the low part of her vocals during "A Little Less Conversation" (the recent Junkie XL dance version), but she stepped it up by the second verse with her louder register. Judges, again, were unimpressed. "You energized the room at least," Farley Flex offered. "I found it really screechy," Gold said. Hat-boy Rex Goudie traded his lucky white hat for his blue suede Adidas during a pretty good "Blue Suede Shoes." Like Elvis, Goudie's best asset is his pelvis, I mean, charisma; it's definitely not his stiff dancing. "You're like Elvis Pretzel," Farley said. The second half of the show was dedicated to Presley ballads and Walpole stared straight into the cameras for his soft and composed "Love Me Tender." The super saccharine delivery irked Werner. "I think some people just tuning in are gonna think this is The Dairy Network," he said. "All cheese all the time." Rawn was wobbly on "Can't Help Falling In Love," taking liberty with the melody and introducing a never-before-heard yodel. Jordan called the vocal "iffy," but Gold liked Rawn's unusually low-key performance. "Tonight is the first I've seen you vulnerable and it moved me," Gold admitted. Then O'Neil recomposed herself for the soaring gospel song, "You'll Never Walk Alone," which should convince viewers of her Idol-worthy big voice. "That was simple, that was sweet and that was stunning," Jordan praised. Finally, Goudie proved that although he excels in rock, ballads are tricky for him, and the singer struggled with the rhythm on "If I Can Dream." "I thought that was blue, but I really like you," Jordan said as sweetly as possible, while Werner proclaimed that on this night, four Canadians "massacred" the Presley catalog. Travel plans for further south for her and husband actor/singer Will Smith and their family were thwarted by Hurricane Katrina, thus the Smiths' extended stay in Memphis and the opportunity to visit Graceland. Mr. Smith (alias The Fresh Prince of Bel Air) did not join his wife and family for the Graceland outing. As with the first film, Lilo shares her love for Elvis with Stitch, her extraterrestrial friend. Elvis recordings featured on the new film's soundtrack are Rubberneckin', A Little Less Conversation (JXL Remix) and I Need Your Love Tonight. Elvis-inspired chapter titles are Inspiration From The King and A Little More Action. Attending were Kay Powell with the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism; Charlie Hodge, friend, vocalist and musician of Elvis Presley; Mrs. McAllister's father, Mike L. Moon, founder and curator of the Elvis Museum and once owner of Elvis' back-up gospel group, The Stamps Quartet; Dee Gallon, owner of Memories Theater; and others.
