Elvis new Official CD Releases in 2015

All the SONY & FTD Release News

- EIN presents all the SONY & FTD Elvis Presley CD news for 2015 -

FTD - What now, What next, Where to – What’s left?: During Elvis’ lifetime, RCA released a total of between 60 – 70 albums, consisting of dedicated recordings, movie soundtracks and live performances.
The FTD label has been doing an excellent job at looking at the recording anthology of Elvis Presley and releasing every significant LP or recording session on a 1CD or 2CD ‘Classic Album’ version.
However as noted with the recent "ELVIS" second LP release there are less and less outtakes and studio sessions left in the vaults.
FTD’s first release was ‘Burbank ’68’ fifteen years ago, so with all the past releases and packaging what is left for the collector?

Go here as EIN contributor Ian Garfield examines what has been released and what is left for the FTD collectors label..

FTD "What now, What next, What If?": The FTD label has been doing an excellent job at looking at the recording anthology of Elvis Presley and releasing every significant LP or recording session on a 1CD or 2CD ‘Classic Album’ version.
However, as noted with the recent "ELVIS" second LP release, there are less and less outtakes and studio sessions left in the vaults.
Following our previous article “What now, what next, where to – what’s left” where EIN contributor Ian Garfield reviewed what has already been released by FTD, he now looks at how FTD might present their future 'Classic Album' releases.
Over the next couple of weeks, EIN will cover the remaining movie soundtracks and the possible inclusions that could produce a suitable release for the avid collector for these recordings.
This article covers the possible releases of Kissin’ Cousins and Roustabout.
Go here as EIN also wants YOUR input and ideas - and we will send the final suggestions to Roger and Ernst at FTD.

"Elvis Presley: The Album Collection"  60CD Box Set, More Details: The recently announced "Elvis Presley: The Album Collection" 60-CD Deluxe Box Set has prompted some relevant questions from EIN readers.
Good news is that the these are all NEW Re-Masters from the original tapes, re-done by Vic Anesini using the most up-to-date technology.
Keen fans have noted that there were multiple songs that Elvis released as singles that never appeared on "regular" RCA albums. For instance 'Suspicious Minds' could only be found on the 'Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits' box-set, and 'Burning Love' on the 'Burning Love and Hits From Movie vol.2' both of which are not included in this 60CD box-set.
The publicity notes "Features all of the albums Elvis recorded and RCA released in his lifetime" yet the new collection leaves out 'Worldwide Gold Award Hits' Vol 1 & 2, 'A Legendary Performer' Vol 1 & 2, 'Having
Fun With Elvis On Stage', 'Pure Gold', 'The Sun Sessions', and 1977's 'Welcome To My World' - (not including a few Camden collections of material already featured). This new set does however include three extra CDs of 50's, 60's and 70's Rarities - but these would obviously not include the noted missing singles.
The answer to the questions is that despite the suggestion of releasing Elvis' "Original albums", several of them have had new "bonus tracks" added to their original tracklist to accommodate the missing single & EP tracks.
For instance Suspicious Minds, Don't Cry Daddy, Kentucky Rain and Mama Liked the Roses have all been added to the "new" version of 'From Elvis IN Memphis' while Separate Ways, For the Good Times, Burning Love, Always On My Mind, It's A Matter of Time and American Trilogy have all been added to the "Elvis (Fool)" album.
And despite Elvis never wanting the dreadful 'Dominick' to be released it has been included on the Camden 'Almost in Love' collection!
Comparing the tracklist to the fabulous 'The Complete Masters' release of 2010 , 'Elvis Presley: The Album Collection" Box Set' contains 784 songs while 'The Complete Masters' featured 814 "masters".
The only tracks on this new box-set that were not on 'The Complete Masters' are from the Frank Sinatra TV show, 'Stuck On You', 'Fame and Fortune' and the 'Witchcraft / Love Me Tender' duet.
The three new "Rarities" collections feature the expected fifties acetates and early live recordings, the sixties Home Recordings, 'Are You Lonesome Tonight? (Laughing Version)' etc while the seventies include Rehearsal Jams, studio alternates even 'Froggy Went A-Courtin’!
The publicity does however promise, "The Album Collection also includes a 300-page deluxe fully illustrated hard cover book with complete insightful commentary, discography and recording session data. Elvis Presley-The Album Collection represents a level of artistic achievement unparalleled to this day. This unique and comprehensive collection provides testament to Elvis' innate talent.  Original album packaging has been painstakingly restored including gatefold/die cut sleeves, original RCA Victor inserts, stickers and more. CD labels replicate original side 1 labels."

- 'How RCA Brought Elvis To Europe' - Book: This beautifully designed book contains unseen pictures and follows Elvis ascent from hottest act in The South via US stardom to becoming RCA Victor's spearhead as the company launched the RCA label worldwide in 1956. It goes on to show how Europe was completely won over by the early 1960's.
The earliest international Elvis records are listed, and there is a guide to identify Elvis records from all European countries, including a summary of the earliest releases from each country.

There are complete illustrated discographies (including variants) for all Nordic countries: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. There is also a guide to first pressings of the 47 Elvis EP's released in Germany Elvis' reception in the Nordic countries is covered by a wealth of press cuttings, local film flyers and posters, ads, premiere dates, pictures and stories from handovers of Swedish and Norwegian record awards, and much previously unknown record company history.

Among many revelations, the most surprising is perhaps how the Swedish company Electra engineered most of the Elvis activity taking place in Northern Europe.

Spliced in between are many amusing short stories, like when three Nordic Royal Princesses sought out Elvis on the set of G.I. Blues, or how the man behind RCA in Belgium started out smuggling records in the wings of his WW2 Royal Air Force Spitfire. Or the time Norway's bestselling crooner met Elvis in RCA Studios on the day Hound Dog was recorded.
The story behind German Teldec's earliest Elvis releases is completely rewritten along the way, and for record collectors there are many new discoveries – like why do records from some countries come with push-out centers while others have large center holes. Or how can it be that up to three different label variants may occur within the same print run. Or why were Europe's earliest 45-singles sold in Sweden only and why did Denmark and Norway, each with tiny populations, issue respectively 46 and 56 different Elvis records?
And did Elvis really pose a threat to communist Eastern Europe when he served as a US Soldier in West Germany? Boy, he sure did. All these topics and plenty more are covered in How RCA Brought Elvis to Europe. And not to be forgotten: free with the book's first edition comes an UNRELEASED 1956 VINYL EP.
The book is written by Norwegians Sigbjørn Stabursvik and Hans Otto Engvold, supported by a network of experts from fourteen countries. Stabursvik knows things about records that most people don't, while Engvold is a hound for detail in all things Elvis. Together they bring new insights on practically every page of this excellent book.

FTD releases for December: Just announced are two new FTD releases for December, one double set of Elvis Live in 1976 and the classic album  'Elvis Golden Records Vol.3' with plenty of unreleased outtakes.
- 'Elvis Golden Records Vol.3' is the new 2-CD release in FTD's classic album series. It features a 7” digipack with 12-page booklet. By the time Elvis' Golden Records Vol. 3 was released in August 1963, no one in rock ‘n’ roll up to that point, other than Elvis, had ever legitimately earned a second ‘greatest hits’ volume, much less a third. It also embodied the best commercial examples of Presley’s new post-Army maturity, as both vocalist and musician, and the songs featured on this album achieved an unparalleled level of global chart success by any artist between 1960 and 1963.
The recent 'Elvis For Everyone' FTD featured a second CD which helped "mop-up" officially previously released outtakes and it truly was one of FTD's best releases in 2014. Here FTD continues the same idea with plenty of unreleased early 60s outtakes being released for the first time such as the remaining seven outtakes of 'Fame and Fortune' or four unreleased takes of 'Kiss Me Quick'.

- 'Elvis In Alabama: The Last Double Date' is another 1976 live soundboard release from FTD this time a 2-CD 5” digpack containing both the afternoon and evening show in Huntsville on September 6, 1976. Includes America The Beautiful, Love Letters, School Day, Hurt, Danny Boy and Blue Christmas.

The evening show was previously released on bootleg as "Elvis Still Rockin' The Nation" although Elvis was notably tired on this tour. The Afternoon show is reputed to be the better concert. Sadly 'Danny Boy' is sung by Sherrill Nielsen and not Elvis.

'If I Can Dream' Elvis with the RPO - In-depth CD Review: It is forty years since Elvis Presley entered a recording studio and he seems very reluctant to record anything new. So in terms of releasing a "new" album of Elvis material the topic has always been a tricky one. Now in 2015 as the publicity notes "Elvis Is Back - with a Brand New Album" for the cleverly re-imagined "Elvis with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra" in the highly marketed ‘If I Can Dream’. In the UK and Australia it has made Number One in the album charts, an incredible achievement.
There is no doubt that the marketing has been very impressive - but do Elvis fans have to love everything about it?
EIN checks the facts and three Elvis fans of varying familiarity all provide their own opinions.

Both EIN's Piers Beagley and Bryan Gruszka take a very detailed listen to this new chart-topping release to discover what's good and bad... Go here for our 5,000 word review - Do you agree? Send us your Comments.

'Elvis: Today' in-depth Legacy Review: On March 10th 1975 Elvis returned to RCA Studio C, LA to record his last significant album. Recorded over three nights, the album featured Elvis covering other songwriter's material. Interestingly with no other recordings left in the RCA vault every single track from the session was released on the one album - and what a fine album it was.
Kicking off with the rocking power of T-R-O-U-B-L-E the album also included some country, gospel, sentimental ballads while also featuring some of Elvis’ personal favourites. Unlike all of his albums since ‘Elvis Country’ this album had a nice overall cohesiveness that probably did reflect Elvis’ musical interests of the time. In 1975 it really was “Elvis Today”.
Now out as a 40th Anniversary legacy release and combined with a wonderfully enjoyable June 1975 concert can it really be worth buying again?
Luckily for Elvis collectors both the live concert and the 'Original Session Mixes' show a vast improvement in audio quality.
Go here as EIN's Piers Beagley takes a good look at the new 40th Anniversary Legacy release, discovers the newly remastered audio delights and the pure joy of re-visiting the first officially released Elvis soundboard.

Three New FTD Releases for October: FTD have announced three new releases for October. A 1976 Live Soundboard, Movie soundtrack "Classic Album" and a unique collectible double-vinyl release.
1. 'Elvis In West Texas' a new soundboard contains the evening show in Odessa on May 30, 1976.
A thoroughly great show with repertoire highlights in “Help Me Make It Through The Night” and “It’s Now Or Never”.
It is packaged in a digipack 5” format with a 12-page booklet of 1976 photos.
The show features the pretty regular 1976 set-list including an 8 minute 'I Got Woman / Amen' but also highlights 'Funny How Time Slips Away' and ' Help Me Make It Through The Night'. This is the second 1976 show FTD have released from Elvis' MAY/JUNE 1976 tour #18 - as FTD's sixth release back in 2000 was 'Tucson' from June 1, 1976 just two days later.
Recorded at County Coliseum, Odessa, Texas on May 30, 1976, at the evening show. “See See Rider” and the talk about Odessa following it, are from the afternoon show the same day.
A short piece of the introductions was not recorded.

2. 'Live A Little, Love A Little' new movie soundtrack 'Classic Album' release.
It comes in a 7” digipack with booklet. Due to the fact that there are only four songs in the movie, this is a single disc with selected outtakes.
The tracklist has not yet been finalised but FTD contributor Ken Jensen notes that it will include "newly discovered session tapes."

EIN has no info as yet whether these are just better quality versions - or include newly found outtakes.

3. 'Moody Blue', special Double-Vinyl version.
Continuing on from the popular special vinyl editions, FTD is pleased to announce the release of “Moody Blue” in its original discarded art layout for the first time.
To create a unique coll
ectible, it is issued in clear vinyl and each pressing is hand numbered.
This edition is limited to 1500.
This double vinyl edition includes, session outtakes, rough mixes, undubbed versions but for some reason misses out on the full-length version of 'Pledging My Love'.

The remarkable new album features classic Elvis vocal performances with brand-new orchestral accompaniment, along with a duet with Michael Bublé, and appearances by Il Volo and Duane Eddy.
An exciting revisit of Elvis’ work, If I Can Dream focuses on the iconic artist’s unmistakable voice, emphasizing the pure power of The King of Rock and Roll. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London with acclaimed producers Don Reedman and Nick Patrick, the 14-track album features Elvis’ most dramatic original performances augmented with lush new arrangements by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. “This would be a dream come true for Elvis,” Priscilla Presley says of the project. “He would have loved to play with such a prestigious symphony orchestra. The music…the force that you feel with his voice and the orchestra is exactly what he would have done.” Don Reedman also commented, “Abbey Road Studios and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra are as good as it gets and Elvis deserves as good as it gets.”

The album features a scintillating duet with best-selling jazz-pop singer Michael Bublé on “Fever.” The album also includes additional contributions by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist Duane Eddy adding his signature sound to “An American Trilogy” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” and Italian operatic pop trio Il Volo lending their outstanding vocals to “It’s Now or Never.”

'Elvis Today' Officially Announced!: SONY has finally announced the Legacy 40th anniversary version of "Elvis Today".
The promo notes, "In the lead up to the Today sessions, Elvis won a Grammy® for 'Best Inspirational Performance' of 1974. The award was for an in-concert version of "How Great Thou Art," and it couldn't have come at a better time. The chance to take possession of the treasured trophy came when Elvis flew out to the coast in readiness to rehearse and record at RCA's studio in Hollywood. Elvis' last studio album, like his first, was made up of songs he chose and loved.
This 40th anniversary Legacy Edition contains the original album featuring the hit single "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" and 10 undubbed session mixes. Disc 2 features live performances given within weeks of the album's release. Previously issued in 1980, this constructed show has been remastered and reassembled from original source tapes to offer improved audio definition.

'Elvis Today' Legacy 40th Anniv Vic Anesini ReMaster: The new SONY Legacy 40th anniversary version of "Elvis Today" as expected will feature the original 1975 album, plus undubbed session mixes of its ten tracks. It will be paired with the 'composite' concert pieced together from recordings made on tour in May and June 1975, first issued as part of the 1980 'Elvis Aron Presley' Silver box-set. Ernst Jorgensen confirmed today with EIN that the release is worldwide and the live concert CD is newly remastered by Vic Anesini. Anesini also remastered the main CD

Similar in concept to the earlier FTD 'Classic Album' TODAY release, hopefully the session audio will be remastered by Vic Anesini as the previous FTD audio mastering was not their best.

'Elvis’ Golden Records' New FTD Classic Album: FTD have announced a new July 2015 Classic Album release.
With U.S. sales of more than six million, and an even higher figure for rest of world, Elvis’ Golden Records is Elvis’ biggest selling album except for his 1970 budget album Elvis’ Christmas Album. It was complied from eight #1 A-sides, along with five B-sides and the track "Love Me" from his second LP ELVIS. Collectively they represent more than 20 million singles sold in the USA alone, resulting in 17x platinum certifications. Elvis' best-selling EP ELVIS (EPA 992) sold more than one million copies in the USA and was RIAA certified double platinum. For this FTD release we have added four songs that easily could have been included; "Blue Suede Shoes," "My Baby Left Me," "I Was The One" and "Playing For Keeps." Additionally, stereo versions available in RCA’s vault are added of four songs from the album. Unfortunately, most of the outtakes from the sessions that produced these songs have been lost, so the bonus disc includes all the outtakes of four songs recorded during the period in January 1957.
Also includes "The Stereo and Binaural Hits" with 'Treat Me Nice' (undubbed movie master) Previously unreleassed in binaural plus
'That's When Your Heartaches Begin' (splice of takes 7/M & 6) Previously unreleased edit.

Tuesday 2 June 2015 - EIN first with the News - that other Elvis websites only copy!

'If I Can Dream' - Orchestral / Duets - New SONY CD for 2015: EIN contributor Brian Quinn reports that the BIG Sony release for 2015 looks to be a brand new Elvis album "If I Can Dream" which will feature Elvis and other artists, including Michael Buble, remixed with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
For some while SONY has been working on the idea of an Elvis "duets" but were somewhat disappointed with the reception to the Christmas Duets CD from 2008. This is a new re-working of the concept. The CD features other “special guests” also supplying “extra vocals” although not strictly duets.

There is certainly a potential for high sales figures if the set gets good TV exposure. The UK 'Greatest Hits' compile 'The Nation's Favourite Elvis Song' in 2013 with its associated TV special after all made #1 in Britain.
Hopefully some more popular recent chart acts will feature in duets. Think how much publicity the recent Lady GaGa / Tony Bennett album received. No cover or anymore info is available as yet.
The release date is September 2015.

The album was produced by Don Reedman and Grammy nominated Nick Patrick (Gypsy Kings / West Side Story 50th Anniv). The new production

sounds totally contemporary with Elvis' remastered vocal track showing an unbelievable power and control. Engineered at Abbey Road the journalists and engineers present, along with Priscilla, broke into spontaneous applause upon hearing the new production. The remake of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' is a case in point where the 2015 orchestra remix supply the song with a brand new and contemporary ambience. Priscilla has noted that, "Elvis would have loved this new album, because it presents Elvis where he always wanted to be - The best sounding entertainer on the planet".

'Rock Around The Bloch' FTD Book Review: Fifty four years ago Elvis Presley helped raised money and directed much-needed attention to the stalled efforts to build the USS Arizona Memorial.
On March 25, 1961, the 26-year-old Presley took the stage to an arena packed with 4,000 frenzied, screaming fans. He performed 15 songs that night ending with a rousing performance of "Hound Dog, which included a slide across the stage on his knees.
The concert raised about $54,000, and public and private donations poured in following the show.
This newly published FTD Book/CD combo celebration of this fabulous show is 'Rock Around The Bloch' by David English and Pal Granlund. A hardback book containing 288 pages it includes first-hand accounts from people who were there, newspaper articles from the time and numerous photographs (over 130 of which have never been published before).

'Elvis' Christmas Album' FTD Review: There is no doubt that the FTD office has a white-board that lists all the remaining Elvis releases for future ‘Classic Albums’ and as we sadly approach the end of the CD, and FTD, era the few remaining “lesser” ones are finally getting released.
Two of these would be 'Elvis' Christmas Album’ – already released in the multiple variations and with no session outtakes - and ‘Flaming Star’ with only four tracks, two of which were deemed too corny for release at the time.
On September 5, 1957 Elvis arrived at Radio Recorders and all that was needed was eight new Christmas songs and the ‘Peace In The Valley’ numbers would make up the rest. The first Christmas song they tried out was ‘Blue Christmas’ and the rest is history...
For the umpteenth release FTD really needed to produce the ultimate package for collectors but this time unfortunately this Classic Album falls a little short of expectations..
Here EIN's Piers Beagley checks out this recent FTD....

'Flaming Star' FTD Review: There is no doubt that the FTD office has a white-board that lists all the remaining Elvis releases for future ‘Classic Albums’ and as we sadly approach the end of the CD, and FTD, era the few remaining “lesser” ones are finally getting released.
Two of these would be 'Elvis' Christmas Album’ – already released in the multiple variations and with no session outtakes - and ‘Flaming Star’ with only four tracks, two of which were deemed too corny for release at the time.
It was on August 1st 1960 that Elvis returned to Hollywood for pre-production on his sixth film, Flaming Star. As G.I. Blues would not be released until the end of the year Elvis must have hoped that the fluffy singing-travelogues were behind him and now, at last, he had a Western that would test his acting skills and give him another real chance to prove himself.
FTD once again prove that all is not lost as they find some very enjoyable previously 'Flaming Star' unreleased 1960 session tapes and more...
Here EIN's Piers Beagley checks out this recent FTD in detail....

'Elvis Presley, Rock Around The Bloch!' The audio! A new FTD book 'Elvis Presley, Rock Around The Bloch!' by David English and Pal Granlund published by FTD books, RCA, Flaming Star will be released later this month.
A hardback book containing 288 pages which tells the story of the USS Arizona benefit at the Bloch Arena, Honolulu, Hawaii on March 25, 1961.
Previously released with a very fine audio upgrade by the MRS label, FTD's audio engineer Jean-Marc Juilland has posted an explanation about the new audio remastering work he has done on the Hawaii '61 show that accompanies ROCK AROUND THE BLOCH!

Trevor Cajiao has posted on the 'Elvis The Man & His Music' page
.... FTD audio engineer Jean-Marc Juilland explains the remastering work he did on the Hawaii '61 show that accompanies the ROCK AROUND THE BLOCH! book:
...  Of course I checked a couple of transfers (eventually ordering a new one from Vic at Sony Music, NY) and compared with previous commercial releases.
The original recording is incredibly poor. There's very little bass

and the lead vocal is plagued with mike overloads. After the splice from the second tape/recorder (last 3 songs), spectral analysis confirms there’s hardly anything recorded above 4K.
Dick Bogert did an incredible job making something listenable out of this for the ELVIS AARON PRESLEY LP box set. For the CD release Dick Baxter added some noise reduction to it. It helps make it more listenable somehow. Finally the MRS label did a nice remastering on top of this.
I have to admit my approach has been completely different than that of the MRS label :
- Although I feel that noise reduction makes sense here to kill some of the rough frequencies recorded (shrill shouting of fans, etc.), I didn’t use any NR eventually as I couldn’t find anything that didn't hurt the resolution in the recording.
- MRS raised the level significantly. I used no limiter and kept the full dynamic range.
- MRS kind of boosted the recording balance with an overall “loudness” approach. I spent an awful lot of time finding the best EQ corrections across the range, but rejected everything that would cause a loss of micro-informations or emphasize the intrinsic distorsions in the recording.
- MRS made “composite repairs” using part of the recorded performance to repair the spots where the recording falters or stops altogether. I told Ernst Jorgensen that I wouldn’t do any of this as it necessarily “invents” part of the historic performance, and he confirmed that he wouldn’t endorse anything of this kind. I still did a significant amount of restoration.
At the end of the day, it may be that thanks to the noise reduction, boosted sound and creative repairs some people still prefer to listen the MRS version. I believe my approach gets closer to bringing as much information as possible from this recording that stands as a testament to what Elvis was up to in R’n’R in 1961.
There is no other tape, and I think it is better to release something that preserves the music in the most natural way given the current state of technology than to try to emulate the MRS approach that is more invasive and already available to the public.

EIN finds this quote quite amusing .. "I told Ernst Jorgensen that I wouldn’t do any of this as it necessarily “invents” part of the historic performance, and he confirmed that he wouldn’t endorse anything of this kind."
As we all know that  Ernst has endorsed some weird edits in the past that have "re-invented" Elvis history!

'Elvis In Florida April 1975' FTD In-Depth Review: Mid 1975 found Elvis back in good form and having fun on stage. Officially we have so far heard almost nothing from the first part of Elvis' Tour#13 from April 24 - May 7.  This FTD features material from Elvis' Lakeland concerts on April 27th & 28th as well as Jacksonville April 25 1975.
The St. Petersburg Times commented … "But Elvis' forte is still the rockin' stuff, and he shows he hasn't lost what it takes. His Burning Love puts shame even to his own record version. When he launches into a slow, torchy Heartbreak Hotel, the inflections are vintage 1956"

FTD decided that this interesting selection deserved a release in the larger 7' format.

Go here as Elvis soundboard super-collector Geoffrey McDonnell checks out this previously unreleased concert and these unexplored April '75 concerts ....

'Elvis 80' with Duets and Remixes?: The Elvis Matters fan club is suggesting a rather strange collection for the 'Elvis 80' new album - It is believed to be a European only 80th Birthday release. The first CD 'King Of Rock 'n' Roll' will feature the regular twenty greatest hits tracks with CD 2 a similar 'King Of Love' 20-track selection BUT the third CD might feature a rather odd selection including 'Duets' and a selection of Remixes. Note that Dani Klein was featured on a VIVA ELVIS 'Love Me Tender' duet.
CD3 : The King of TODAY (Remixes)
1 Shake That Tambourine (by: Alle Farben)
2 Bossa Nova Baby (by: Viva Elvis)

'I Got A Feelin' in My Body' New Official Remix: EPE / SONY have Ok'd a new remix, 'I Got A Feelin' in My Body' by remixer Tommie Sunshine who has remixed Elvis' 1973 gospel track. "Working with the original recording session of Elvis Presley is nothing short of a psychedelic experience," Sunshine said. "Hearing his vocals by themselves was a window into how incredible of a singer he truly was." Sunshine worked with Denver, Colorado-based producer Wuki for the remix.
Sunshine honored the song's original smooth STAX groove and added in a fresh electronic dance music sound.
To be honest, from EIN's point of view it seems very average compared to other remixes and even other modern versions of the same song.
When EIN first heard 'ALLC' remix we couldn't get enough of it.
This version of 'I Got A Feelin' in My Body' sounds very pale in comparison

This individually numbered, 17 song, 2 LP set features the King's full August 12, 1970 dinner show and includes 13 previously unreleased performances."

FTD Releases August 2014: Three new releases announced for August 2014 release, a Classic Album, UK book, plus new LIVE vinyl album.
- ‘Elvis For Everyone’ – Classic Album.
This 2-Disc 7" Set Celebrates 1965’s Classic Album "Elvis For Everyone" and features a selection of previously officially unreleased session outtakes.
The original press release posted by RCA in August 1965 says, "This is the first Elvis Presley album since 1962 [POT LUCK] that is not a movie soundtrack album." In this new album, Presley demonstrates great versatility by singing a wide range of songs, familiar and unfamiliar, slow ballads and hard-driving rock’’n’rollers. Only one of these songs has ever been issued before ("Summer Kisses, Winter Tears"). The lead off-song, "Your Cheatin’ Heart." Is the title song of the new movie based on the life of Hank Williams., currently playing throughout the country … ..Varied repertoire and Elvis in top form make this really Elvis For Everyone."
Although it was compiled from previously unreleased recordings, it appeared like a breath of fresh air to Elvis fans that had become
somewhat tired of the formulaic soundtracks. The LP hit to the top 10 on both sides of the Atlantic.
This 2-CD classic edition features insightful essays, rare memorabilia and great outtakes!
It also features the rare overdubbed version of "Wild in The Country" that featured maracas and additional bass guitar. Although, the source remains a mystery to this day, it was supplied to RCA-UK for its stereo version of the album as a replacement for "Summer Kisses." This track had been issued two months before on RCA-UK’s unique album, Flaming Star And Summer Kisses.
Apart from OPTIONAL MASTERS that could have been used, DISC 2 contains 23 Previously Unreleased Outtakes from the ‘60s!!!!!!

- "Best Of British – The RCA Years 1957-1958
This is Elvis, with the continuation of the British story now detailing his RCA releases from 1957 - 1958. As a companion to the critically acclaimed and highly successful ‘Elvis: The Best Of British - The HMV Years’, this book contains the full history of over FIFTY iconic Elvis songs initially released by RCA in Great Britain. Again, each song has been thoroughly researched to the same high standards and is graphically catalogued.
Containing over 1000 illustrations, unpublished photographs and charts, together with rare items of memorabilia, this volume of ‘The RCA Years’ moves the story forward to explicitly reveal previously unknown facts and additional British connections to the songs.
Within these 500 pages and amongst many formerly unknown fascinating facts, you will discover:
The English pub that inspired an Elvis song!
Exactly where and when Elvis learned to play piano!
The real life characters contained within the lyrics of Jailhouse Rock!
The CD included with this book features many first-time officially released Elvis tracks. Here, amongst his classic songs, are the songwriters’ demo recordings as Elvis first heard them, plus the message he recorded on his home answer machine!
‘The RCA Years (1957 - 1958)’ chronicles the meteoric rise in Great Britain of the ‘Sun King’ to the man who would ultimately be crowned ‘Artist Of The 20th Century’.
Elvis innovated, others imitated!

That’s The Way It Is (Deluxe Edition) is the most ambitious Elvis Presley restoration package ever created, bringing together - for the first time ever - the album, the theatrical and home video versions of the film, six full-length concerts (featuring previously unreleased performances), rehearsal highlights and other rare recordings in one astounding and essential package. The result of an historic partnership between Sony and Warner Brothers, the deluxe set combines the video and audio assets of Elvis: That’s The Way It Is with unique and previously unreleased material.
The highly-collectible That’s The Way It Is (Deluxe Edition), bonuses include unreleased material, remixed and remastered audio and a new 80-page book detailing the entire event with facts, songwriter and musician interviews, and photos in a deluxe 8CD/2DVD box set.
Originally released on RCA Records in November 1970, Elvis: That's The Way It Is combined eight studio tracks, recorded in Nashville, and four live concert performances recorded in Las Vegas during Presley's 1970 "Summer Festival" season at The International Hotel in Las Vegas to create one of Elvis' best albums.
Though never considered a soundtrack album, Elvis: That's The Way It Is was initially released to accompany the first theatrical run of "Elvis: That's The Way It Is," a 1970 documentary feature, directed by Denis Sanders, which combined on-stage, off-stage and behind-the-scenes footage in Presley's first non-dramatic film since his 1956 Hollywood movie debut.
On June 4, 1970, Elvis arrived at RCA's Studio B in Nashville, where producer Felton Jarvis had assembled a hot new session band featuring Elvis' on-stage guitar legend James Burton. Five nights of recording generated material for no less than three future albums and four singles, including Elvis: That's The Way It Is and the essential Elvis Country.
On July 14, rehearsals for the movie and live shows commenced at the MGM lot in Culver City, California. The Hollywood cameras rolled for five different rehearsals prior to the opening night on August 10, including augmentation run-throughs with the singers and the orchestra at the hotel. Unquestionably, Elvis was keen to broaden his repertoire for the
film, as more than 60 songs were attempted during the period, far more than the usual average of 20 to 25 that would normally be chosen. Over the four nights filmed by MGM, Elvis and his band worked tirelessly, trying out a broad variety of musical styles, emphasizing his desire to share the wide range of music he loved with his audience. Director Denis Sanders captured the end result magnificently, providing fans throughout the world with their first glimpse of the new contemporary Elvis performing at the peak of his vocal prowess both in rehearsal and on the stage.
'That's The Way It Is (Deluxe Edition)' centers on the SIX complete shows recorded and partially filmed by MGM. Two of the shows are released for the first time in their entirety. The original RCA album is expanded with the four single sides from the period, and a selection of “fly-on-the-wall” outtakes from the June Nashville sessions that produced the majority of tracks for the album. Completing the audio section, a separate disc of insightful rehearsal highlights, featuring unusual song selections showcases both the hard work and the playful atmosphere that governed Elvis’ relationship with his musicians.
That's The Way It Is (Deluxe Edition) puts the original RCA album and the 1970 MGM documentary feature together in a single package for the first time. It includes the previously released original theatrical DVD version (1970) and the re-edited and extended DVD version from 2000.
(EIN note: What a shame not one scrap of new footage has been included. This would have been the perfect place and presumably indicates that there will never be an official release of any more MGM filmed material).
