For
a quarterly magazine "Elvis: The Man & His Music" is
extremely up-to-date on every topic.
This
month's issue features the regular reviews of all the
recent Elvis releases, plus an excellent item focussing
on 'Can't Help Falling in Love' by Jan-Erik Kjeseth.
The article explores all aspects of this essential Elvis
#1, including the different worldwide releases, as well
as interviews from the musicians present at the recording
session.
Also
included is an intriguing review of Elvis performing
in Pittsburgh June 1973 with some fascinating comments
about Colonel Parker who was there. "Col Parker was
sitting in front of the stage.. The rotund Parker wore
a dimestore-bought cap, and shirt & slacks that looked
like they came from a rack in a bargain basement"! An
interview with "Sebastian" of the excellent website
'Master & Session' is also featured.
This
is very topical since his involvement with the remastering
of the new 'Elvis Is Back!' FTD has unfortunately caused
the supreme music-master, Kevan Budd, to recently resign.
The letters page is as stimulating as ever and, along
with some delightful photos, this magazine remains a
"must have" for all serious Elvis fans.
