New Legacy Release for 2014: Elvis 'Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis' celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the King's triumphant 1974 return to his hometown with an expanded 2CD release of the monumental concert experience.
"I wanted to record a live session in my hometown of Memphis…after all, this is where it all started out for me." - Elvis Presley.
This 2CD Legacy Edition will be released on March 18, 2014 and features several tracks left off the original '74 release in addition to a wealth of unreleased material.
Disc 2 of the remastered edition presents a recently located MONO recording of a "test run" performance held for an ecstatic live audience on March 18, 1974, at the Richmond Coliseum two days before his historic return to Memphis. (This has of course been released on the FTD '48 Hours To Memphis'.)
As a special added bonus for Elvis aficionados, Disc 2 includes five intimate tracks (three of them previously unreleased) cut at the RCA Studios in Hollywood on August 16, 1974. Originally intended as reference recordings for an upcoming Las Vegas engagement, the performances, which include "Down In The Alley,"
"Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues," "Softly As I Leave You," "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and "The Twelfth Of Never", provide a rare fly-on-the-wall glimpse into Elvis' consummate backstage artistry as he prepares these songs for concert. (Previously released on FTD 'From Sunset To Las Vegas')
Elvis Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis will include a 24 page booklet featuring rare photos, previously unseen memorabilia, new liner notes, press clips and more.

The musicians backing Elvis on Elvis Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis include James Burton and John Wilkinson (guitars); Charlie Hodge (guitar and vocals); Duke Bardwell (bass); Ronnie Tutt (drums); Glen D. Hardin (piano); The Sweet Inspirations, J.D. Sumner & The Stamps, Kathy Westmoreland (vocals) with Joe Guercio and his Orchestra.
Elvis Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis will include a 24 page booklet featuring rare photos, previously unseen memorabilia, new liner notes, press clips and more.
Following the artistic success of his 1973 Stax sessions and the global phenomenon of the Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite album and broadcast the same year, Elvis opened 1974 with a 15 city tour routed to end in Memphis and a state-of-the-art concert recording.
"I wanted to record a live session in my hometown of Memphis," said Elvis at the time. "After all, this is where it all started out for me."
Originally released on vinyl on July 7, 1974, Elvis Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis reached #1 on the Country charts and featured "How Great Thou Art," the track that would bring Elvis his third (and third Gospel) Grammy win.

'The On Stage Season' FTD Review: After their excellent "On Stage" multi-track Classic album, FTD now continues their look at this excellent season with the first official release of Elvis' 1970 Opening and Closing night performances.
"If I appear a little shaky that's because I'm a little shaky!" - Elvis, Las Vegas Jan 26th 1970.
On Opening Night Elvis introduced ten "brand new" songs to his Vegas setlist and what a treat it is to hear these for the first time live.
‘King Elvis Rules Vegas Again’ - As Elvis stood with his arms outstretched and head bowed in thanks, the curtain slowly fell and we were swept up with the excitement of the crowd which was at its peak. ... with every song, Elvis gave the audience exactly what they had come for: a chance to see and experience a living legend. Elvis a habit-forming' drug that does you good! - Journalist Ann Moses
EIN's Piers Beagley checks out this new release and decides whether it is worth buying these often bootlegged concerts one more time...

'SOLD OUT' FTD CD Review: This FTD release features two previously unknown reel-to-reel recordings of Elvis on tour in 1974.
March 1974 was Elvis' ninth tour of the USA and was his first tour since July 1973. Freed from the constraints of the Las Vegas Hilton casino crowd, Elvis was in fine form and putting on great shows getting fabulous on-stage feedback from his enthusiastic audiences from the Southern states. Every concert sold out in a few hours and extra concerts had to be added to meet the demand.
Elvis would play 154 concerts in 1974 and Tulsa March 1st would be his first outside the Las Vegas casino crowd, Cleveland June 21st would also be a great performance to an enthusiastic crowd.
Go here as EIN's Piers Beagley along with David Tinson provide an in-depth review of this fabulous new FTD release....

'Merry Christmas...Love, Elvis' New Sony CD: Colonel Parker is alive and well as SONY once again flood the market with yet more Elvis product! Is it really necessary to release yet another Elvis Christmas compilation just 2 weeks after the major STAX  release? Surely a Christmas compilation can wait until November?

'The Nations Favourite Elvis Songs' UK COVER ART: Annouced today was the cover art for both versions of the new UK single and double CD versions of the album entitled 'The Nations Favourite Elvis Songs' out on 11th November, 2013. The single disc (cover right) will retail at £10.94 and the double CD (cover below) will retail at £11.74.
The Nation’s Favourite Elvis Song will be a 90 minute special to air later this year on ITV telling the stories behind the 20 greatest songs ever recorded by the King of Rock’n'Roll.
EIN contributor Brian Quinn has checked with the UK Official Charts Company today and they confirmed sales of both versions of the album will be added together for the charts.
- As EIN contributor Brian Quinn notes, there are some fantastic tracks chosen though nothing out of the ordinary, and I am sure it will chart well. However Sony have yet again lost the opportunity of introducing the general public to some ‘relatively’ unheard of gems.

Wednesday 14 August 2013 .... ELVIS WEEK ....
"Elvis at Stax" Listening Party: Two of Memphis’ titanic musical presences came together in 1973 when Elvis Presley went to Stax Studio to record during July and December of that year - and yesterday the Elvis fans flocked to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music on McLemore Avenue to hear the sounds that came from those sessions.
Excerpts from the new box set of those recordings were played and a panel including Norbert Putnam, bassist at the December session, discussed this musically historic event.
Ernst Jorgensen noted, that it was an important moment in Elvis history, "He went to the studio to sing any music he wanted to." Elvis was eager to try new music and was reeling from his divorce from Priscilla Presley.
Putnam recalled memories from the December sessions. "He
was like a kid in high school. He was a great raconteur and told us stories for two hours. Then he led us through the recording."
The fans at Stax were soaking in the music and loving Putnam’s tales of the recording studio.

‘Elvis At Stax’ [Deluxe] Reviews: More new sensational reviews of the new STAX release... Joe Marchese from the Second Disc website provides a very in-depth review including...
.. Elvis at Stax would be a landmark release simply for bringing the Stax masters together; even the most diehard Elvis fan will likely admit that most of his original album releases weren't crafted or packaged with an eye to posterity. But this box set adds 27 outtakes and alternate takes that allow listeners to trace the evolution of a song. This is a fly-on-the-wall experience, with plenty of stops, starts and in-studio chatter. Elvis at Stax offers a rare and immersive look at how Presley, producer Felton Jarvis, and their talented band developed each song into a memorable recording. Elvis is frequently looser on these early takes; the rolling tape captures him joking around, but also fiercely committed to getting each song just right. Elvis even riffs a bit, such as singing a few lines of "Softly, As I Leave You" while readying his pipes for a try at "Loving Arms," or clowning, grand opera-style, before "If You Don't Come Back." Sonically, these tracks are just as crisp as the finished masters for a true "you are there" feeling.
This Memphis soul stew is housed in an 8 x 8" slipcase similar to that of last year's Prince from Another Planet. A 42-page softcover book is also enclosed, containing an introduction by Roger Semon, a lengthy essay by Robert Gordon, and a full track listing with all relevant session information and complete discography. The book is generously illustrated, too, with well-captioned photographs of Elvis and assorted memorabilia relating to the sessions.
Vic Anesini has marvelously remastered all three discs, and the outtakes have been newly remixed by Steve Rosenthal and Rob Santos, the box set's co-producer with Ernest Mikael Jorgensen. Touching on all of the styles that shaped the one and only King - pop, R&B, country, gospel, and of course, rock and roll - Elvis at Stax chronicles some of his last truly great studio sessions. As such, it's another essential release as part of Legacy's streamlining and repackaging of his vast musical catalogue. When push came to shove, nobody took care of business quite like Elvis Presley.

‘Elvis At Stax’ [Deluxe] Reviews: Released today, it is great to see yet more good reviews and general media publicity for this new 40th Anniversary Deluxe Set.
General Jabbo of Blog Critics posted an honest review of this new release, including..
... The year 1973 was a good one for Elvis but being the world of Elvis Presley, it wasn’t without its complications, however. Presley’s relentless touring schedule had left him exhausted. He was separated from Priscilla during this time and then RCA forced Elvis into the studio.
Presley knew of Stax and its success, and its proximity to Graceland couldn’t be beat, so he scheduled sessions for July and December of that year. A plethora of material was recorded.
The sessions proved fruitful, providing material for three albums: Raised On Rock, Good Times, and Promised Land. This collection presents two complete albums and nearly a third, plus a multitude of outtakes. While many of these outtakes have been previously released on various box sets, Elvis At Stax cherrypicks many of the best of these tracks and presents them in one place.
While some of this material may not be as strong overall as earlier triumphs such as From Elvis In Memphis or Elvis Country, listeners who dismiss it outright are missing out on many fine performances. Elvis At Stax does a good job of presenting Presley’s Stax sessions in a manner that makes sense — something Presley fans have wished for years — while offering a fresh view of this material.

New September FTD Releases: News of the upcoming FTD releases scheduled for late September was first announced by 'Elvis The Man & His Music'. There are three releases of which only two have been confirmed.
1. 'Moody Blue' as a Classic Album release featuring the final Graceland session and outtakes.
The follow-up to the surprisingly impressive "From EP Boulevard".
2. 'G.I. Blues Vol.2' as a Classic Album CD.
Follow-up to the excellent 'G.I. Blues Vol.1'.
FTD also note that the supposed July release of the new VINYL 'Live On Stage In Memphis' has been unfortunately delayed
until late August due to a problem with the manufacturers.
FTD state that another two releases are also being planned for November 2013.

'Hot August Night' FTD CD Review: After the success of the iconic '68 Comeback Special - Elvis signed on the dotted line for a pretty penny - a cool million to perform a two week engagement in Las Vegas at the newly built International Hotel. Mixing contemporary songs and his classic rock 'n' roll hits Elvis and his dynamite TCB Band kicked some serious Ass in Sin City.
Elvis' stunning August 25 1969 Midnight Show formed the core section of Elvis' famous "In Person" RCA album with seven performances being selected from this fabulous night.
For the first time ever, at last FTD have released Elvis' complete performance - but do these songs stand out when listened to as part of this familiar 1969 Las Vegas season?

'Elvis At Stax' Uncut Mini-Review: The UK music magazine UNCUT have published their review of the new Stax deluxe set. They gave the set a good rating of 7/10.
Elvis In the wilderness: gems from the King's downward spiral. - As the '70s passed, the lustre of his peerless comeback years fading, Elvis found himself increasingly tangled in a web of poor health and drug abuse, bad business decisions and artistic dead-ends. Recording sessions became haphazard affairs. RCA shamefully releasing anything bearing his name or likeness. However well-intentioned revisionism takes precedence on 'Elvis At Stax', with the producers rifling through the 1973 session tapes, attempting a coherent narrative. The box-set features 55 tracks over three discs cut at Memphis' famed Stax studio, although in truth this grab-bag of would-be pop standards, stale "in-house" Elvis material and a few honest-to-goodness rock'n'roll nuggets bears faint resemblance to the label/studio's classic Southern-soul sound. While you may have to be a serious Elvis scholar to stomach cornball like "Three Com Patches" or multiple takes of syrupy dreck like "Mr Songman", Chuck Berry's "Promised
Land" (all three takes!) fired by spot-on vocals and brilliant James Burton guitar, belongs in Elvis' upper echelon. And so it goes - schizo-style - from the scintillating to the off-the-charts lame. When Elvis connected with younger writers - eg. Tony Joe White (For Ol' times Sake), Dennis Linde (I Got A Feelin' In My Body) and Danny O'Keefe (Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues), Elvis proffered a plausible artistic path, one that regretfully never quite materialised.

It seems odd that only eight tracks are featured on the second vinyl album, surely a few more choice cuts could have also been added.

'Elvis At Stax: 40th Anniversary' Legacy Final Details: Celebrating the 40th Anniv of Elvis' STAX studios sessions SONY is releasing a 3 CD 'Elvis At Stax: 40th Anniversary' complete set plus a "Elvis At Stax: 40th Anniv: Best Of" 1CD version. They are both out on Aug 6, 2013. Final Details released today by SONY.
... The last major studio sessions in the career of Elvis Presley have finally been gathered together for the first time in one comprehensive package as 'ELVIS AT STAX: DELUXE EDITION' bristles with energy and dynamism. The deluxe 3-CD box set, a 40th anniversary chronicle of a dozen nights that Presley spent at Stax Recording Studios in his hometown of Memphis in July and Dec 1973, will be released worldwide August 6.
Released simultaneously will be a single CD of highlights from the box set simply titled ELVIS AT STAX, and a 180-gram, double-vinyl LP.
The official website notes 'ELVIS AT STAX' bristles with energy and dynamism. The proof is in the six consecutive singles that the Stax sessions produced, all of which skirted the Top 40 from 1973 to 1975. In effect, they rivaled some of the hottest streaks that Presley had charted a decade earlier. The Stax singles still resonate today:
"Raised On Rock" b/w "For Ol’ Time Sake" (Hot 100 #41, country #42);
"I’ve Got A Thing About You Baby" b/w "Take Good Care Of Her" (Hot 100 #39, country #4);
"Promised Land" b/w "It’s Midnight" (Hot 100 #14, country #9);
"If You Talk In Your Sleep" b/w "Help Me" (Hot 100 #17, country #6);
"My Boy" b/w "Thinking About You" (Hot 100 #20, country #14);
"Mr. Songman" (B-side of "T-R-O-U-B-L-E," Hot 100 #35, country #11).
(EIN note - How odd that Elvis "skirting the Top 40" is a sign of dynamism! Surely RCA would have hoped that Elvis would get into the Top Ten after the success of 'Aloha'?)
Ernst Jørgensen has long been concerned with doing justice to the Stax sessions, which were never acknowledged by the artist's record label RCA as a unified whole. Instead, as with most of Presley's studio work in his second decade as a recording artist, the tracks were scattered onto LPs and intermingled with material recorded in Nashville and Hollywood. The bulk of the Stax cuts showed up on Raised On Rock/For Ol’ Times Sake (1973), Good Times (1974), and Promised Land (1975). For ELVIS AT STAX, many of the outtakes originated on the reissues of those three albums on the FTD label. ELVIS AT STAX was produced by Jørgensen, Semon, and Rob Santos of Legacy A&R.
Taking up the cause for ELVIS AT STAX is another scholar and aficionado of the artist, award-winning resident Memphis journalist Robert Gordon, who has written an in-depth, day-by-day liner notes essay for the box set.

(EIN Note - It will be fascinating to see whether Robert Gordon includes the mainly despondent stories from Elvis' acquaintances at the STAX sessions.)
Elvis spent 12 days at Stax in 1973 (July 21-25 and December 10-16), and the rollercoaster ride of those sessions is meticulously detailed in Gordon’s liner notes. ELVIS AT STAX neatly compartmentalizes the results:
•Disc 1: The R&B and Country Sessions – The Outtakes: 17 tracks
•Disc 2: Part 1 – The Pop Sessions – The Outtakes: 10 tracks
•Disc 2: Part 2 – The July 1973 Masters: four single sides and six album tracks, and
•Disc 3: The December 1973 Masters: seven single sides and 11 album tracks.

'Aloha From Hawaii' 40th Anniversary release CD Review: There is no doubt that most people reading this review will know Elvis’ phenomenal Aloha From Hawaii' concert inside out. Every fan will know the TV broadcast, most fans will have bought the album several times, a fair number will have also bought the "Alternate Aloha" rehearsal and a few will have seen the original broadcast on TV back in 1973.
We all know this classic record-breaking concert so well. Dressed in his stunning "American-Eagle" jumpsuit, tanned, slim and Adonis-like, Elvis was truly at the peak of his later career.
But with no "new" material to be offered on this Legacy 40th Anniversary re-release do the audio re-masters and packaging with 24 page booklet create a release worth of such a magnificent event.
Go here as EIN's Piers Beagley takes a good look at this all-important 40th Anniversary release and discovers the Good and the Bad..

"Aloha" New Legacy Release Sound Samples: Posted on the SONY Legacy website are three sound samples from the new up-coming Legacy Release. And they sound very fine indeed compared to the old 1988 'Alternate Aloha 'release.
'A Big Hunk O' Love' newly remixed Rehearsal show
'Suspicious Minds' newly remixed Rehearsal show
'Blue Hawaii' newly remaster from the after-show additions. Unfortunately here Elvis sounds as tired as ever, not surprising since they dragged him back after the biggest performance of his life to record extra fluff

'3000 South Paradise Road' FTD CD Review: A two-CD release with 16-page booklet this FTD takes a close look at Elvis’ engagement at the Las Vegas Hilton in August of 1972.
The main disc is the Dinner Show from August 12, 1972 and the second disc is culled from the rehearsals on August 4th, the date of the opening of the engagement.
'3000 South Paradise Road' provides a unique experience of Elvis rehearsing, 6 hours before the opening night at the Las Vegas Hilton. August 1972 was a great period with Elvis out of those typical jumpsuits and looking cool in his two-piece suits. Created by true Elvis fans for Elvis collectors - and with the fabulous audio remaster of the fine August 12 Dinner Show - this is what the FTD label is all about.

- 'On Stage' Special double-VINYL: FTD vinyl is pleased to announce the release of 'On Stage' a Special Limited Edition 2-disc 180-gram vinyl set.
The tracklist features a selection of Elvis' February Las Vegas recordings plus the 1969 'Runaway' but doesn’t follow the track list of the original "On Stage" album. It also for some reason does not include the original "additional" 1969 track 'Yesterday'.
It is however a very interesting compilation of Elvis live in 1972 on VINYL with tracks compiled from several FTD CD releases, 'On Stage' and 'Polk Salad Annie' and 'At The International'.

• Vinyl cutting by ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS
• DMM Copper Mastering
• 180 Grams heavyweight vinyl
• Strictly limited pressing
PLEASE NOTE: All future vinyl releases will feature poly-lined plain inner bags instead of printed card. This will provide better lifetime protection.

'Summer of '61' FTD book: Despite our enthusiasm that FTD might have been expanding into the DVD market with unreleased Elvis footage this situation has now disappointingly changed.
Author of 'Summer of '61' David English has confirmed that, "I am sorry to say, that for clearance and various other reasons, there won't now be a DVD included with the Summer of '61 book/CD".

The price of the set suggested so far is £49.99 or US$80

The book includes over 200 stunning unpublished photos taken from the original negatives - see FOUR preview pages below - . FTD 207 – 506020-975058

Two New FTD Books: FTD have planned two new Flaming Star book co-productions.
- 'The Best of the British - The HMV Years 1956-1958' written by Trevor Simpson. This is the story of EVERY song by Elvis released on the British HMV label. It is an eclectic mix of graphic illustrations of the labels, the charts and rare memorabilia through 1956 - 1958.
Thorough research of each song and songwriter has taken many years and provides the definitive history of the music that shook the world, sensationally revealing many previously unknown facts and British connections to Elvis and his music.
The book contains over 1000 rare and unpublished photographs, the illustrations connected to the songs, the recordings and the promotion of Elvis by HMV in Britain.
Included, and officially gathered together for the FIRST TIME on two exclusive CDs, is every Elvis track released by HMV. Most of these are, of course, the fifties master takes but also added to these are bonus songwriter demos and Elvis outtakes, including some of the 'Love Me Tender' Stereo versions. These help complete the audio story upon which the foundation of the global popular music culture and industry was built.

News from December 2012

'From Elvis Presley Boulevard' FTD In-Depth Review: 'From Elvis Presley Boulevard' was first released in April 1976 but only reached #41 in the charts. It only featured 10 tracks, recorded at Elvis' Graceland home among them 'Hurt', 'Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain' and 'For The Heart'.
BUT if Elvis was "Raised on Rock" then why was 'From Elvis Presley Boulevard' such a middle-of-the-road quagmire of syrupy overdubs and tepid songs? This really wasn’t the album Elvis fans had been waiting for.
In hindsight we now understand more about Elvis’ depressed emotional state at the time and the difficulties involved in getting him enthusiastic enough to record at all.
But if the single ‘Hurt/For The Heart’ was supposed to be the promo for the album, then fans were surely disappointed. Even the cover pretended it was a live concert album - the Colonel must have been desperate! It is certainly one of Elvis’ worst albums.

FTD December Releases Out Now: Two new FTD CD releases are out now.
- '3000 South Paradise Road' - A two disc 7" "Classic Album" type release with 16-page booklet. It takes a closer look at Elvis’ engagement at the Las Vegas Hilton in August of 1972. The main disc is the dinner concert on August 12, and the second disc is culled from the rehearsals on August 4th, the date of the opening of the engagement.
'3000 South Paradise Road' provides a unique experience of Elvis rehearsing, 6 hours before the opening night at the Las Vegas Hilton on August 4, 1972.
A short review of '3000 Paradise Road' on FECC notes, "Great covershots, great booklet with great photos, and not one in a jumpsuit. Those "casual" (ok, not too casual) clothes Elvis wore on stage then made him look really good. The rehearsal CD is a nice experience as an eavesdropper. Sure elvis does not use his complete vocal range nor does he put a lot of power in the rehearsed songs, but still most of the songs sound good enough for his stage performance. Furthermore it is surprising to me that he did do some songs that really did not

need any rehearsal because they have been played regularly since at least the beginning of the year (1972). "True Love Travels on a Gravel Road" is a good performance and the band does it well rehearsed. Elvis jokes around at the beginning of "Faded Love" but it still sounds good. The big ballads get their usual lenghty treatment and they sure meant something to him ('What Now My Love', 'My Way') although the sound is an Audience Recording it is really okay. After all, this is a piece of Elvis history that fans would loved to have witnessed.
The Concert CD truly is Full Blast. A great 1972 double."
- Jambalaya FECC.

- 'Back In Memphis' - Is also released - the Classic Album double-album series first volume from the 1969 sessions in Memphis with the release of 'Back In Memphis' featuring 'Suspicious Minds' as a bonus track. FTD 115 (506020-975050) (SEE cover pictures below)

'Prince From Another Planet’ In-Depth Review: Of all the live concert recordings released by RCA during Elvis Presley’s lifetime, none carried the historic significance of his long-awaited New York City shows at Madison Square Garden and now the two RCA recorded concerts and newly found fan-filmed video footage been released in one deluxe package for the 40th Anniversary Edition.

"PRINCE? MAKE THAT KING!" - Go here as Arjan Deelen reviews the new Sony ‘Prince From Another Planet’ package.

It’s been a while since a new Elvis release generated as much publicity as ‘Prince From Another Planet’ - But is it as good as our high expectations?

The '3000 South Paradise Road' new FTD: New flyers have been produced for the '3000 South Paradise Road' new August 1972 special double FTD release.
EIN has been informed that the audio from the August 12 Dinner Show soundboard has been vastly improved upon from its original 'Blazing Into The Darkness' bootleg release. Elvis was very focused and motivated at this engagement which is a surprise at his seventh Las Vegas season.

Our friend Rock Legend also reports that the rehearsal CD is pretty decent audio and better than expected.
Treats are a very relaxed ‘Blueberry Hill’, ‘My Babe’ with a very different James Burton guitar solo not heard in other versions and ‘True Love Travels On A Gravel Road’ is not the rehearsal that we know but a better version, closer to the original release.
Robert Frieser and Hans Slebos have collected some stunning and rare photos (EIN notes - Isn’t it great to see Elvis not in jumpsuit for a change!) plus tons of memorabilia and documents which make the whole package a real winner.

Don’t miss out on this one.

FTD December Releases: Three new FTD releases for December.
As with '48 Hours To Memphis' this release has been prepared by Robert Frieser and Hans Slebos, who once again has done a fabulous job of collecting information and materials for the project. There will be additional information in the next few weeks.
'3000 South Paradise Road' provides a unique experience of Elvis rehearsing, 6 hours before the opening night at the Las Vegas Hilton on August 4, 1972. As disc 2 is captured on a personal tape recorder, the sonic quality is below standards, but historical significance more than compensates for its audio limitations. Disc 1 is a soundboard recording.
Recorded live at Vegas Hilton August 12, 1972. Dinner show.

This is a great Las Vegas dinner show from August with Elvis in a confident mood, giving excellent performances on almost every song, and enjoying being back on stage. Elvis wore a cool range of two piece suits and was up for lots of karate action and with lots of energy. Previously released as the bootleg 'Blazing Into The Darkness'.
'My Way' was new and Elvis makes a few humorous cracks about not wanting 'My Way' associated with his own personal life "...the end is near and all that jazz, I haven't even ate it up and spit it out yet, I'm still chewing on it!"
The setlist is a great selection (see below) and the sound quality is excellent. Remastered in 2012 it will be a great FTD double-pack.

'A Boy From Tupelo' special In-depth Review: For more than a decade Ernst Jorgensen has been working on his deluxe book/CD package to present the definitive look at Elvis during his sensational and creative Sun Records period.
Over eight years later after first being discussed with fans it is finally released as a massive 530 pages, around 1,000 photos and weighing nearly 5 kilograms, this is the biggest project of its kind.
It also features all of Elvis’ Sun recordings on 3 CDs - including a CD of Elvis LIVE, on the radio, and in concert.
Go here as EIN's Piers Beagley checks out this fabulous production while David Tinson checks out Elvis' sensational early LIVE recordings.

Newly updated with more images and excerpts -the review features plenty of book extracts and rare photos.
