Cooking with Elvis

(22 June 2002):

In the publicity blurb for the Queensland Theatre Company's forthcoming production of Cooking with Elvis, there is no mention of the fact that the playwright, Lee Hall, also wrote the Oscar-nominated screenplay for the hugely successful British film Billy Elliot.

It does, however, carry a warning that the play contains explicit sex scenes, nudity, language and themes that may offend, not to mention "gratuitous Elvis numbers". Perhaps it's just as well QTC isn't playing the Billy Elliot card, for the play is very different.
