BMG presented commemorative awards in the shape of large plaques
with gold records of "That's All Right" with pictures of Sun
Studios, Elvis, Scotty and Bill to several people during the
Global Moment In Time ceremony.
The
plaques were presented to Shelby Singleton, Arthur Cruddup,
John Short, Bill Black, Scotty Moore, Sam Phillips (his sons
requested that Dewey Phillips also be recognized) and Jack
Soden.
Jerry
Lee Lewis (The Killer) phoned in and said, "Elvis was number
one and I was always number two."
Other
VIP guests included, Sam the Sham, Stan Perkins, Isaac Hayes,
Justin Timberlake, Billy Bob Thornton,Sonny Burgess, and Billy
Lee Riley.
