RECORD-BREAKER
ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING
Elvis:
The 2005 comeback special!
FANS
of a music legend are all shook up in a quest to buy
the latest release from the superstar on sale in stores
across Denbighshire. In celebration of Elvis Presley’s
70th birthday, his record label is reissuing all 18
of his number ones in chronological order.
The
first re-release, Jailhouse Rock, went straight to number
one and his fans were crying with joy in the chapel
this weekend when One Night scooped the coveted honour
of being the UK’s 1,000 top single.

The
superstar’s success gives him the most number ones in music
with a tally of 20, beating the Beatles who have 17. Fans are
finding it difficult to get hold of a copy of this week’s release,
A Fool Such As I, as many stores are carrying a limited stock
of the single.
The
Free Press has learnt that fans in Denbigh were forced to
surrender their quest for the single in the town’s Woolworths
branch as a devoted Elvis music lover snapped up the store’s
supply of three copies on Monday morning. A spokesman for
Woolworths confirmed the sale at Denbigh and added:
“Because
it’s a limited edition the record company have published very
few.
“We
have had very few copies across the country. We are trying
to get more copies into the stores this week.”
Elvis
could make it an American trilogy of number ones this weekend
with A Fool Such As I. Woolworths has been inundated with
calls on how to get hold of the single, the spokesman said.
“It
will almost certainly be number one on Sunday but it all depends
on stock,” he said. “It all depends if another single comes
in late due to the fact that Elvis has been hard to get hold
of.”
