EIN recommends you check out last year’s Camden budget album, I Got Lucky.  While its paltry nearly 23 minutes playing time won’t appeal to many, the audio mastering work by Sony BMG audio engineer maestro, Vic Anesini, brings the 10 tracks vibrantly to life in a new way.

The music is essentially pure 1960s Elvis film pop but the songs are punchy with Elvis definitely in the groove. There is great channel separation between the lyric and backing instrumentation which gives each its own space and a nice spark in-between.  Elvis’ lyric is sharp and crystal clear while the instrumentation has a solid 60s pop feel.  The album is perfect for reliving what were, at the time, the celluloid songs many of us sung along to as we jaggedly bobbed and weaved through our hormone driven teenage years.

Anesini mastered the tracks at the Battery Studios in New York.

Verdict: I Got Lucky, with its budget label and budget price, offers a good and surprisingly pleasant music alternative when you need a brief respite from overplaying the sublime Legacy edition of From Elvis In Memphis.  You may even find yourself being disappointed when the music ends.  A sparkling guilty pleasure!
