Help
needed with new Elvis book
Do
you do remember exactly where you were and what you were doing on
August 16, 1977 - the day that you heard the shocking news that
the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, had died. Prior to August
16, there were many rumors about his health, but his death was still
unexpected.
A new
book on this subject is being prepared and you are invited to share
your memories. Since late 1977, there have been countless books
written by his family and friends, but very little has been heard
from the fans. Even now, 27 years later, Elvis is still a part of
our lives. We didn't just lose a favorite musician. We lost a legend.
We lost a man who helped change the face of music. We lost a man
who, in many ways, influenced our lives.
To
pay tribute to the man who affected so many so deeply, Ron Collamore
is currently working on a book of memories of that fateful day as
described by fans around the country and around the world.
"We
want to create a collective memory that will ensure that our thoughts
about the death of this great man - and what he meant to us while
he was alive - are passed down to our children and our grandchildren.
We want to assure that this book will be a positive expression of
admiration and historically accurate - a fitting tribute to Elvis
Presley".
Ron
is asking for your help in gathering memories for this book.
Memories
can be sent to, Ron L. Collamore, at 1732 Ryons Street, Lincoln,
NE 68502 U.S.A. or e-mailed to Spike0553@yahoo.com. The deadline
is November 1, 2004. Those wishing to contribute to the book should
include name, address, and a sentence stating that they give permission
for us to use their memory in the published book.
